Happy Birthday Sweetheart.

Yesterday my darling daughter turned 15, she is my youngest and i can't believe how quick time has gone by. She is very sweet and thoughtful, loves to bake cakes, loves her nieces and nephews 7 in all and they all adore her, she does very well at school and would like to be a lawyer. Lauren had a sleepover on Saturday night with 8 of her best friends, all lovely girls, i made her lots of cup cakes and we had family over on Sunday hence the late blog - the photo is of Lauren and my son Sam when they were brides maid and page boy when they were four & six, the dress and cardigan were made by me.Now an apology for not blogging for ages but i have been a bit down i have had some pain in my hands and joints for a while and the doctor ordered a blood test, with the result being osteo arthritis , which will not get better just manageable and the thought of not being able to do my craft was a bit bewildering but i now have tablets and have decided to carry on as long as i can, my hubby is being a star and helping out so that i don't strain my hands and can do my beloved sewing. I am going to the EC on Saturday with my sister and my eldest daughter for the Sewing for pleasure show, what a tonic i am really looking forward to it, hope to buy some nice things.
Well bye for now, have a great crafty week, best wishes Pat.

Hello Pat,
Gosh, what a lovely 'baby' you have & lovely cup cakes... I was really saddened to hear your news about your OA - and am not supprised that you were uoset about the thought of the impact on your crafting, its about quality of life & being able to enjoy things... Lets hope that the medication can help to control it for you. Enjoy your day out on Saturday.

Take good care, Love Lydia

Hi Pat, thanks for your kind comment - the pattern book is lovely isn't it? Sorry to hear about the osteo arthritis - life is so cruel, but hopefully the medication will help a lot. Have loads of fun at 'Sewing for Pleasure'. I was thinking of going, but have decided to save my money and go to the Quilt Festival later on hopefully. Love the pink cake stand by the way. Take care love Julia :0)

I have missed you! So sorry to hear about the osteo arthritis. My father-in-law was diagnosed with that 15 years ago. The doctors told him he couldn't do alot of things that he is still doing today. I will pray the same goes for you. He has good days and bad days, but overall the medications manage the pain. You may have to slow down a bit, but don't give up.

What a beautiful daughter and the picture of the two is priceless. Love the dress and sweater. You are a very talented woman.

Have a great day! Liz

Belated Birthday greetings to your daughter, all the way from Tokyo! She looks fab! I hope you are feeling better. I have a similiar ailment & am on medication too. I think that's why I'm sewing & crafting as much as I can now!

Hi Pat,

What a gorgeous daughter you have, hope she had a great birthday. The cup cakes look fantastic.
Thank you so much for trying to make a donation, my friend Alex has just made one and said that it is a very long winded operation but got there in the end.

Hope your feeling better soon.

Hi Pat!

I hope you are doing well. Is your medicine working well for you? I sure hope so.

I found a blog from this lady who likes to quilt and she has some nice little projects going. She is at http://mrssewnsew.blogspot.com/ if you maybe want to go and see some of her projects.

Have you ever gone to a place called "Hebrides" in Scotland? We read about it in our economics book that it is a place where they are not competitive. I wondered if it was a nice place, like maybe how the Amish people live over here. My family is actually from Scotland; I suppose they emmigrated from there around 1895 or so. I feel that I have been very influenced by the Scottish "ways" (for lack of a better word) because my family is very proud of the heritage. I have always been very curious of the area. Anyway, I just wondered if you ever had been to "Herbrides."

Have a nice day!
